Best rum for a Hot Toddy?

So what is a Hot Toddy?  No one really knows where the word “toddy” comes from. They are typically a mixture of liquor, water, honey, herbs and spices and served HOT!  Traditionally a Hot Toddy is drunk to relieve the symptoms of a cold or flu, however here at Broken Chimney Spirits, we like to drink them in wet cold weather, and sometimes before retiring for a good night’s sleep!

There are so many variations of what to put into a Hot Toddy.  Usually the liquor is Whisky, but we think that Timber® works incredibly well, given it’s extra smoothness and already added botanicals.

You can experiment with all kinds of ingredients: we like a good shot of Timber® Botanical Rum, honey (or maple syrup or simple syrup),  hot water, a touch of lemon and to finish it all off a cinnamon stick!  Find out how we make it and alternative ingredients on our serves page.

So, whether you have a cold that needs soothing, been out for a long winters walk, or just want a night-cap, we think Timber® Botanical Rum really compliments a Hot Toddy!  Get experimenting by shopping direct from the Timber online store and visit our serves page for some ideas.
