CARVED BY NATURE

Premium rum, grown from a unique seed.

Spirit enthusiasts and neighbours, Neil and Chris, grew unique inspiration to develop a quality botanical rum to suit all tastes. Despite both being rum lovers, they couldn’t find a bottle and a taste they could agree on. The seed was sewn and a few years later…using the finest production techniques, locally sourced botanicals and a taste for great rum, Timber was born. Conceived in Edinburgh and distilled in Deeside.

  • Chris Low

“I have a background in the Scottish whisky industry so this has been a labour of love for me. To bring Timber to market has been an amazing journey.”

  • Neil Adamson

“After so many months of recipe development, having that eureka moment when the botanicals aligned so perfectly was incredible. ”

Re-distillation

Unlike traditional spiced rum, which involves adding spices to a base rum and letting it mature, Timber Botanical Rum is redistilled in a still - similar to Gin. This process creates a cleaner, smoother, and fresher product. We add botanicals to the base rum, redistill it, and let it rest in storage. The spirit is cut from 77% to 40% using fresh Deeside water and filtered before bottling. This is how Timber Botanical Rum is crafted.

Botanicals

We source our botanicals as locally and Scottish as possible, taken straight from the land, a true reflection of Scottish produce.  Timber is distilled in Deeside, in the north east of Scotland in partnership with Lost Loch Spirits.

Initially we tried out different blends of botanicals with our base rum.  It took 52 different samples to find the perfectly balanced flavour profile.  We wanted a smooth-bodied rum that would be classed as a sipping rum. Two of the main botanicals are raspberries and honey.  Another is oak bark, aligning with Timber, and truly making our spirit carved by nature.  The rest we keep a well guarded secret….

  • Honey

A subtle sweetness on the palate.

  • Oak Bark

    An earthy complexity.

  • Raspberries

Hints of berry on the nose.
