Scottish Rum Awards Finalist 2024
We are thrilled to announce that we have been named a finalist in the ‘Distilled Rum’ category at the prestigious Scottish Rum Awards! This incredible recognition is for rums of international origin that have been expertly refined, distilled, aged, flavored, and bottled in Scotland.
Being part of the Scottish Rum Awards is an honour, especially given the rich heritage and growing reputation of Scottish rum production, particularly Edinburgh rum. Timber Botanical Rum is being celebrated for its unique blend of craft and flavour. The Timber Rum team is attending the awards ceremony on the 30th October 2024 in Glasgow, where the winners will be announced! We’re excited to share this occasion with fellow rum enthusiasts, industry experts, and friends!
About Timber Botanical Rum
Caribbean rum from Jamaica, the Dominican Republic and Guyana is re-distilled in Scotland with our carefully selected botanicals. Timber® is cut to a bottling strength of 40% ABV with pure, fresh water from Royal Deeside. A versatile and smooth rum, it appeals to traditional rum drinkers and all those who enjoy quality spirits.
What makes us unique compared to other distilled rums? Timber Botanical Rum starts its life as a quality 3 year old dark rum from the Caribbean, using the best Caribbean rum. We add in quality Scottish botanics, raspberries, honey, oak bark and some we keep a secret. The rum is then redistilled through a still from Deeside in Scotland, which is the difference between our rum and other spiced rums you might have tried. They use the filtering method. As we redistill it, the finished product is a very smooth, clean, fresh and a slightly sweeter tasting rum. We add no colouring to our rum once it has been redistilled to make it look darker as we wanted to keep the rum as natural as possible once the process is finished.
Timber Rum is crafted small batches which makes it unique and has won 2 silver awards so far in The London Spirits Competition 2022 & 2024. Our rum has been produced as a sipping rum to enjoy over ice, it’s very versatile and goes well with your favourite mixers or in rum cocktails.

The Scottish Rum Awards provide a platform to recognise and celebrate the finest rums sourced from around the world that have been expertly produced and nurtured in Scotland. The ‘distilled rum’ category is for rums which originate internationally and have been first distilled elsewhere. The skill of a second distillation, or the addition of flavour or botanicals which originate in Scotland, give the potential for a wide variety of flavours and tasting notes. This category is also open to internationally blended rums which have been aged in casks in Scotland.
